Terms & conditions
Terms & conditions
These terms apply to bookings, quote requests, payments, and private tour services arranged through Trippy.
1. General terms
By making a booking or sending a quote request, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms. If you book on behalf of other travellers, you accept these terms for everyone included in the booking.
Trippy provides private and small-group tour services in Iceland. Outdoor travel in Iceland can involve changing weather, road conditions, limited daylight, rough terrain, and other circumstances outside Trippy's control.
2. Booking and confirmation
When you submit a booking form, Trippy saves the booking details and opens a review and payment flow. A booking is not fully confirmed until payment has succeeded and Trippy has issued confirmation.
The customer is responsible for checking that the selected tour, travel date, pickup time, guest count, contact details, accommodation, pickup point, selected add-ons, and special requests are correct.
Private tour quote requests are planning requests only. They do not create a confirmed booking or reserve a tour until Trippy and the customer agree the details and any required payment is completed.
3. Prices, add-ons, and payment
Unless stated otherwise, prices shown on the website are in EUR. The final checkout amount may include the selected tour price, guest count, and any selected add-ons.
Payment is handled through Teya or another payment provider used by Trippy. Trippy does not store full card details on the website.
Prices, availability, and add-ons may change before a booking is confirmed. Once a booking is confirmed, the confirmed order details are the basis for the tour unless Trippy and the customer agree changes in writing.
4. Customer cancellations and refunds
Cancellation requests must be sent to Trippy in writing using the contact details provided on the website or in the booking confirmation. A cancellation is only valid once Trippy has received and acknowledged it.
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time may be eligible for a full refund, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
- Cancellations made 72 hours or less before the scheduled pickup time may be non-refundable.
- No refund is normally given for no-shows, late arrivals, unused add-ons, or customer changes that make the tour impossible to operate as booked.
Refund timing depends on the payment provider, card issuer, bank processing, and any manual handling required. Marking an order as refunded in Trippy does not by itself complete a payment-provider refund.
5. Changes or cancellation by Trippy
Trippy may change, reschedule, shorten, reroute, or cancel a tour when needed because of weather, road closures, safety concerns, vehicle issues, guide availability, force majeure, or other circumstances outside Trippy's reasonable control.
If Trippy cancels a confirmed tour before departure, Trippy may offer a new date, an alternative route, or a refund depending on the situation and customer preference.
6. Pickup and timing
The customer must provide accurate pickup and accommodation details and be ready at the agreed pickup place and time. If the pickup point is unclear, inaccessible, changed too late, or provided incorrectly, Trippy may not be responsible for missed pickup or lost tour time.
Tour duration and return times are estimates. Weather, traffic, road conditions, guest pace, and operational decisions may affect the schedule. Customers should avoid making tight onward travel plans immediately after a tour.
7. Customer health, clothing, and conduct
Customers must choose a tour suitable for their fitness, mobility, health, and comfort level. Customers should tell Trippy before the tour about medical conditions, mobility limitations, dietary needs, accessibility needs, or other details that could affect the tour.
Customers are responsible for dressing appropriately for Icelandic weather and bringing suitable footwear, layers, and personal items. Trippy may refuse or adjust service if a customer is not fit for the activity, is under the influence of alcohol or other substances, behaves unsafely, or does not follow reasonable guide instructions.
8. Travel insurance and personal belongings
Travel insurance is not included in Trippy tour prices. Customers are responsible for arranging insurance that covers cancellation, medical costs, personal belongings, travel disruption, and any activities they choose to join.
Customers are responsible for their own luggage, clothing, equipment, devices, and personal belongings during the tour.
9. Liability
Trippy is responsible only to the extent required by applicable Icelandic law. Trippy is not responsible for losses caused by incorrect customer information, late arrival, missed flights or connections, weather, road closures, third-party services, force majeure, or failure to follow guide instructions.
Nothing in these terms is intended to limit liability where that limitation is not allowed by law.
10. Special offers and discounts
Special offers, discounts, and promotional codes are valid only when shown by Trippy and used according to their stated conditions. Unless Trippy agrees otherwise in writing, discounts cannot be applied retroactively after payment has been completed.
11. Legal venue
These terms are governed by Icelandic law. Unless mandatory law requires otherwise, disputes relating to Trippy bookings, quote requests, payments, or services shall be handled by the appropriate courts in Iceland.
12. Updates and contact
Trippy may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies unless a specific written agreement between Trippy and the customer states otherwise.
For booking changes, cancellation requests, refund questions, or questions about these terms, contact Trippy using the contact details shown on the website or in your booking confirmation.
